Comments Policy

Comments are where the roundtable continues after the story. We welcome disagreement, additional data and first-hand reports — that is often where the real detail lives. To keep the discussion useful for everyone, comments on GEroundtable are moderated under the following policy.

The short version

  • Be civil. Argue with the claim, not the person.
  • Add something: data, experience, a correction, a link that genuinely helps.
  • No spam, no promotional links, no keyword-stuffed signatures.
  • No hate speech, harassment or abuse toward any person or group.

Moderation

Comments may be held for review before appearing, particularly from first-time commenters or comments containing links. We may edit a comment only for formatting or to remove a policy-breaking element; we may remove comments that break this policy, and repeat offenders may be blocked from commenting. Moderation decisions aim at the quality of the discussion, not at agreement with the site: critical comments that follow the rules are welcome and stay.

Links in comments

A link that is evidence — a thread, a screenshot source, an official page — is a contribution. A link that is advertising is not. Self-promotional links, affiliate links and unrelated site plugs are removed.

Names and privacy

Comment under a consistent name. Do not publish anyone’s private information, including email addresses, phone numbers or physical addresses — yours or anyone else’s. What you post in a comment is public; please treat it that way.

Corrections through comments

If you are correcting a story, say what is wrong and cite your evidence. Factual corrections are handled under our Editorial & E-E-A-T Policy: verified errors are fixed in the story itself, so future readers get the corrected version.

By commenting, you accept this policy. Questions about a moderation decision can be raised via the Contact page.
