ElevenLabs users can now publish AI-generated music from its ElevenMusic platform directly to SoundCloud, removing the download-and-upload step between a prompt and a public release. The integration, announced on Thursday 5 November, sends tracks straight to a creator’s SoundCloud account, where they carry a label identifying them as AI-generated. SoundCloud Artist Pro members also get three months of ElevenMusic Pro, a tier that generates up to 1,000 songs a month.

What the integration does

The core feature is one-click publishing from ElevenMusic to SoundCloud, with no file management. Tracks made with the platform go live on the creator’s profile, instead of being exported and re-uploaded by hand. The label matters as much as the shortcut: every track sent through the integration is marked as AI-generated, so listeners can tell how it was made.

The sweetener is aimed at SoundCloud’s paying artists. Artist Pro subscribers receive three months of ElevenMusic Pro free, a tier that allows up to 1,000 generated songs, 500 stem separations and five custom styles or vocals each month. The offer turns a distribution deal into a trial, giving SoundCloud’s creators a reason to test the music tools.

ElevenLabs has been building its music stack. It released its first music-generation model in 2025, followed by a consumer app for songs in April 2026 and a model that switches genres mid-track a month later. Instant Soundtracks, which scores videos in a single pass, arrived in October, and users have created more than 25 million tracks with the company’s models.

SoundCloud’s side

SoundCloud is the first platform to carry ElevenMusic creations directly to fans beyond ElevenLabs’ own ecosystem, in the words of its chief executive Eliah Seton. The company has been adding AI tools for artists on its own terms, partnering last month with Moises to let artists move songs between the services.

It already integrates Google Flow Music and the remix platform Hook, so the ElevenLabs deal fits a deliberate pattern rather than a one-off experiment. The aim, on the evidence of the Moises deal and this one, is to make SoundCloud the default home for AI-assisted independent music.

Our read

The integration matters less for the button than for the label. One-click publishing is a convenience; an AI-generated tag on every published track is a policy. SoundCloud is betting that listeners will accept labelled AI music if the pipeline is honest, while rivals take harder lines: Deezer lets users filter AI music out entirely, and Bandcamp bans AI-generated tracks outright.

For ElevenLabs, the deal turns a generation tool into a distribution channel. Twenty-five million tracks created is a number, but tracks sitting inside one app are inventory; tracks published to SoundCloud are a catalogue with an audience. The risk is quality at scale: if the feed fills with generated songs, the label protects listeners but not SoundCloud’s reputation for discovery.

For independent artists, the economics are the real test. Three months of Pro is a trial, but after it ends the question is whether generated tracks earn enough streams to justify the subscription. SoundCloud pays like other services, and AI-labelled tracks will compete for the same listener attention as human-made songs, with no promotional boost promised in the announcement.

What to watch next is whether other platforms follow SoundCloud or copy Deezer. Spotify has signed label partnerships for AI remixing but has not announced a model partner like ElevenLabs, and YouTube has taken a cautious labelling approach of its own. If SoundCloud’s labelled feed grows without a backlash, expect both to move.

Why It Matters

AI music is moving from a novelty to a supply chain, and the platforms that publish it are writing the rules. SoundCloud’s choice — label everything, filter nothing by default — is the middle path between Deezer’s opt-out and Bandcamp’s ban. If listeners keep listening, that path becomes the template; if the feed degrades, the bans will look prescient.

Background

ElevenLabs built its name on realistic voice synthesis, and its audio work now spans precise timing as well as music: Cue times every spoken word to the character. The company already partners with Spotify, where authors use its models to narrate audiobooks, and SoundCloud is its first direct publishing deal for generated songs.
