Bing Tests ‘Related Searches Based On Your Browsing’ Below Sponsored Results

Bing is testing a “Related searches based on your browsing” section that appears below the sponsored results in its search listings. This is an unconfirmed test: Microsoft has not announced the feature, and it has been seen only in limited sightings so far.

The test was spotted independently by two observers. Khushal Bherwani posted a screenshot on X showing the related searches box inside the sponsored block, which Search Engine Roundtable reported on October 15, and Sachin Patel reported the same sighting for Search Engine Watch on October 13. In the screenshots, the suggested searches sit directly under the Microsoft Ads results rather than in Bing’s usual related-searches position. Google tested a very similar browsing-based related searches feature in its own results a few months ago. It is not yet clear whether Bing’s suggestions are drawn from browsing history, past searches, or both.

If the test rolls out, it would tie Bing’s ad module more closely to personalisation, using a searcher’s own history to suggest follow-up queries right where the paid results sit. That raises the same privacy and relevance questions Google’s version did, and it fits a pattern of Bing trialling interface ideas close to Google’s, from renaming its Copilot search tab to AI Mode to ‘Read more’ links inside search result snippets. For now it remains a small, unconfirmed experiment, and there is no sign of a wider rollout.
