ServiceNow and Google Cloud announced an expanded partnership on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, connecting ServiceNow’s industry workflows to Gemini Enterprise for the first time, so employees can trigger ServiceNow work directly from the Gemini assistant instead of switching between systems. The joint release says Gemini Enterprise will be able to reason and take complex, multi-step actions using ServiceNow’s Action Fabric, while keeping the enterprise security, low latency and governance that both companies’ customers expect. Retail, customer relationship management and IT integrations are generally available to mutual customers now, with telecommunications integrations expected in early 2027.
From Conversation To Completed Work
The core idea is simple, even if the plumbing behind it is not. Gemini Enterprise becomes a single interface, and ServiceNow supplies the operational context behind it. A worker asks a question or gives an instruction in the assistant, and the system can then carry out the related workflow in ServiceNow, rather than merely drafting a reply about it. ServiceNow senior vice president John Aisien put it bluntly in the announcement, saying conversational AI is only as useful as the action it drives, and that the partnership turns conversation into work that gets done.
That framing matters because enterprise AI has spent much of the last two years getting good at answering, summarising and drafting. The harder step is acting safely inside systems of record, where a wrong click can change a ticket, a quote or a network configuration. ServiceNow Action Fabric integrates its workflows headlessly into Gemini Enterprise through Model Context Protocol servers and Agent2Agent connectivity, and the connectors will also be published as plugins alongside joint demos and reference architectures in the Google Cloud Marketplace.
What Works Now, And What Comes Next
In retail, the combination of ServiceNow Retail Operations and Gemini Enterprise lets store teams quickly report and diagnose equipment problems and systems failures, so they spend less time on technical issues and more time with customers. An additional integration with Field Service Management means Gemini Enterprise can automatically alert and dispatch technicians to conduct on-site repairs. Both retail integrations are generally available to mutual customers now.
For customer relationship management, sellers can use Gemini Enterprise to manage deals, update opportunity notes and create complex configurations and quotes through natural language. They can ask for account context and summaries of recent deal activity, then create follow-ups in the same conversational interface, while product managers and administrators can create offers, bundles and rules the same way. The pitch is that sellers walk into meetings better prepared and spend more of their time on customers themselves.
In IT service and operations, combining ServiceNow IT Service Management, IT Operations Management and the Configuration Management Database with Gemini Enterprise lets helpdesk agents triage incidents and assess change risks, lets site reliability engineers investigate alert storms and trace configuration dependencies, and lets employees resolve common requests through guided self-service, all directly within chat. Telecommunications is the one area still to come: ServiceNow Telecommunications Service Management and its Context Engine for Telecommunications, which should streamline high volumes of account, technical and billing inquiries, are expected to be generally available in early 2027.
The Enterprise Assistant Race
Google Cloud vice president Satish Thomas said the goal is to turn AI potential into tangible business value by bringing the agentic power of the Google Cloud platform straight into mission-critical ServiceNow systems, allowing teams to trigger actions, resolve issues and serve customers faster. That is the same contest playing out across the enterprise market, where vendors are competing to own the front door through which employees reach their company’s systems.
Oracle and OpenAI made a similar enterprise-interface play at the same time, putting ChatGPT inside Oracle business systems, and other vendors are racing to give AI agents verified identities and controls so that acting agents can be trusted. ServiceNow’s answer is different in emphasis: it is not selling a new chatbot, but the workflow layer underneath one.

Why It Matters
This matters because it shifts the enterprise AI question from what an assistant can say to what it can safely do. If Gemini Enterprise can reliably trigger a repair dispatch, update a deal or triage an incident, then the assistant stops being a helpful side panel and starts being part of operations. That brings real productivity gains, but also real risk: an agent that acts across finance, service and network systems needs guardrails that are tested, not just promised. The early-2027 telecommunications date is also a reminder that not everything announced is available on day one, and customers should judge the partnership by the integrations they can actually use today, in retail, CRM and IT, rather than by the full roadmap.
Background
ServiceNow describes itself as the control tower for business reinvention, integrating with any model, any cloud and any data source to orchestrate, govern and secure work across the agentic enterprise. Google Cloud, meanwhile, positions Gemini Enterprise as its unified assistant for work. The announcement contains forward-looking statements about future capabilities, so the integrations listed as generally available now are the firmest ground, while later additions should be treated as plans until they ship. Tools built specifically for AI agents are trying to solve a related problem from the developer side, by giving agents a proper place to work rather than a patchwork of scripts.
