OpenAI announced a round of product updates to ChatGPT Ads late on Friday, adding new visual ad formats, a redesigned conversions page in Ads Manager, weekly performance emails, more measurement partners and an in-product way to report bugs and share feedback. Search Engine Roundtable reported the updates on Monday, October 19, after OpenAI emailed them to advertisers.
The changes are a platform update, not a single new format. Each piece touches a different part of the advertiser workflow, from how an ad looks inside a conversation to how a campaign’s results are checked afterwards.

ChatGPT Ads Visual Formats: Wider Cards And Bigger Images
The creative side of the update is about size and shape. OpenAI is exploring wider cards, larger images on desktop and more prominent, full-width images on mobile. A multi-image visual format is listed as coming soon.
OpenAI said the tests use existing campaigns and creative, with no action required from advertisers. That matters for how the test should be read: this is OpenAI changing the rendering of ads advertisers already run, not asking them to build new assets before anything can be measured.
The update follows the visual direction ChatGPT Ads has been moving in this month. Earlier in October, OpenAI said it would test a visual ad format during image generation, with ads clearly labelled and kept separate from the image being created. Wider cards and full-width mobile images extend that same idea to the regular sponsored placements inside answers.
ChatGPT Ads Conversions Page: Activity And Event Quality At A Glance
The second change is inside Ads Manager. OpenAI has redesigned the conversions page so that conversion activity and conversion event quality recommendations are available at a glance within Conversions.
The new overview stays visible across the Conversions tabs. It brings together event volume and trends, the share of active campaigns optimising for conversions, and active warnings linked to the Diagnostics tab.
For advertisers, the practical point is triage. Conversion problems usually hide in event quality — duplicate events, missing parameters or signals that stop matching — and a page that surfaces warnings alongside volume makes it easier to see whether a drop is a demand problem or a tracking problem before budgets are changed.
Weekly Performance Emails And New Measurement Partners
Advertisers with active campaigns now receive a weekly performance email. It summarises account performance, includes week-over-week changes and links through to the full results in Ads Manager.
OpenAI also expanded its measurement ecosystem. The new partners named in the update include Northbeam, DV Rockerbox and INCRMNTAL, plus the mobile measurement partners Kochava, Tenjin and Airbridge, with setup guides for measurement partners and mobile measurement partners.
Measurement has been the standing complaint about ChatGPT as an ad channel: too few formats and too little proof. This update answers both at once, pairing bigger visual inventory with more third-party ways to verify what that inventory does. It builds on the conversion and attribution integrations OpenAI announced on October 5 with partners such as Hightouch, Tealium and LiveRamp.
Finally, advertisers can now share feedback directly in Ads Manager. The account menu in the bottom left corner carries Bug report and Product feedback options for reporting an issue or suggesting an improvement — a small change, but one that signals the platform is settling into routine product operation. Advertisers comparing channels can read our explainers on what ChatGPT is and how ChatGPT’s plans compare, and see how Google is approaching the same surface in our report on ads in AI Mode for Personal Intelligence users.
Why It Matters
ChatGPT Ads is the central entity here, and its neighbours are the advertisers deciding whether conversational inventory deserves a line in the budget, the measurement companies whose integrations make that decision auditable, and rival surfaces such as Google’s AI Mode, which is testing its own ads. A new format alone rarely moves budgets. A format plus a conversions page that flags bad signals, a weekly email that keeps performance in front of the account owner and a wider bench of measurement partners is a platform asking to be judged like search and social are judged — on verified outcomes. If the wider, more visual cards hold user trust while the measurement stack proves return, ChatGPT Ads moves from experiment to channel. If either side fails, the other will not save it.
Background
OpenAI introduced advertising in ChatGPT earlier this year to support its free and lower-cost tiers, starting with a single sponsored unit beneath answers and expanding to product carousels in August. On October 5 it announced visual ads during image generation and a first wave of measurement partnerships, timed to Advertising Week New York. Friday’s update is the next step in that build-out: less about a launch moment, more about the reporting and feedback plumbing a mature ads platform needs.
