Google Ads Automated Promotions Are Live — And Eligible Advertisers Are Opted In

Human Verified 🔥 622 0

Check your ad accounts: since October 12, Google Ads has been able to scan your website for deals and offers, turn them into promotion assets, and attach them to eligible campaigns — automatically, and without anyone on your team creating them. The feature, called automated promotions, applies first to Search and Performance Max campaigns that have location assets linked and no existing promotion assets, which means a large share of local advertisers are in scope.

The detail that matters is the default. Nobody has to switch this on; eligible advertisers are opted in, so offers from your own site can start appearing in your ads unless you act. Once an automatically created promotion serves impressions, it shows up in the Assets section of the account where it can be reviewed and managed — but promotions with no impressions yet will not appear there, so an empty Assets tab is not proof you are unaffected.

If you would rather keep exact control over which offers your ads carry, the opt-out lives at account level in the automated asset settings: switch off Automated Promotions. Given that the promotions are machine-picked from your site’s pages, advertisers with seasonal, expired or margin-sensitive offers have a real reason to look before Google’s crawler does.
