Google Ads Lead Forms Add Lead Scoring To Flag Qualifying Answers

Google Ads Lead Forms have added lead scoring: advertisers can now mark which answers to a custom question qualify a lead for their business, Search Engine Roundtable reported on October 16. The option appears when building a Lead Form asset — under Assets, Lead Form, Create Lead Form, Custom Questions — where each answer can be checked as qualifying in the lead scoring section, with up to 12 answers per question.

The feature was spotted by Dafne Nazar and reported by PPC News Feed, with a screenshot of the in-product wording: “You can now indicate answers that [qualify] a lead to your business to get higher quality leads. To manage all your leads, go to Leads page.” The setting ties into Google Ads’ newer lead management feature, where form leads are collected on a Leads page. What is not yet clear — PPC News Feed flagged this — is how a qualifying mark affects conversion reporting, or whether it connects to the Leads beta section under Conversions.

Why it matters: lead advertisers have always had a quality problem — a submitted form says nothing about fit. Letting advertisers define qualifying answers at the form level gives Google a structured quality signal at the moment of capture, rather than weeks later from a CRM import. If that signal feeds bidding or reporting, it changes how the automation behind features like Google Ads Automated Promotions Are Live values a lead, and it complements the budget-side quality controls in Google Ads Adds Channel Prioritization And Budget Allocation Controls. For now it is an observed in-product addition, not a documented rollout.
