Pigment, the Paris-based AI business planning platform, announced on October 21 a $250 million Series E funding round at a $2.3 billion valuation. The round was led by the Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, with participation from WIL (World Innovation Lab), existing investors Greenoaks, ICONIQ, IVP and Meritech, and a planned investment from NVIDIA.

The company said the new capital will accelerate its move toward autonomous planning for global enterprises. Pigment plans to expand research and development, grow its engineering team and extend its presence into new regions, according to its announcement, released through PR Newswire.

Pigment Series E: The Round And The Investors

The Series E is the largest raise yet for Pigment and is anchored by a new lead investor. The Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, brings together public and private capital to back European technology companies with global ambitions, targeting DeepTech, AI applications and life sciences. WIL joins as a new participant alongside NVIDIA, whose investment is described in the release as planned rather than completed.

Existing backers Greenoaks, ICONIQ, IVP and Meritech all returned for the round. Shannee Braun, a managing director at EQT working with the Scaleup Europe Fund, said Eléonore Crespo and Romain Niccoli had built a global category leader from Paris, describing that profile as exactly the kind of company the fund was created to back.

Revenue, Customers And The Graphite Engine

Pigment said it surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue earlier this year, doubling year over year once again. The company also put a specific adoption figure on its AI features: 85 percent of new metrics created in Pigment are now created by an agent, a measure of how far its customers have moved from manual model building toward agent-built planning.

The platform combines dynamic modelling with autonomous AI agents across finance, sales, supply chain and workforce planning. Its technical core is Graphite, a proprietary, patent-pending compute engine that Pigment says lets thousands of AI agents and people work on the same governed model at once, scaling to hundreds of billions of data points with deterministic and fully traceable results.

The customer list spans large enterprises including Danone, DirecTV, Siemens, Snowflake, ServiceNow and Unilever. Pigment highlighted its recent selection by L’Oréal, which is replacing its salary planning tool for more than 95,000 employees worldwide, and noted that AI-native companies including Anthropic, ElevenLabs and Uber use the platform as a planning layer for their enterprise data instead of building internal tools.

What The New Capital Will Fund

Pigment said the $250 million will significantly accelerate research and development and fuel expansion of the engineering team focused on Graphite and the agents that run on it. The stated direction is to extend those agents from building models and analysing data to running planning workflows end to end, turning decisions into action inside the same system.

Co-founders Eléonore Crespo and Romain Niccoli said enterprise planning will change more in the next few years than it has in the last thirty, arguing that legacy tools are being left behind. They said the backing lets Pigment move fast toward autonomous planning for every enterprise, with agents responding to change as fast as it happens.

Why It Matters

Pigment matters because planning software is where enterprise AI spending meets the numbers a company actually runs on. A $2.3 billion valuation for a planning platform, led by a European scale-up fund and joined by NVIDIA, shows investors betting that the valuable layer is not only the model but the governed data and workflows sitting underneath it. The round also lands in a busy stretch for startup financing on this site, from Different’s $48 million seed for AI-run marketing to ASI’s $325 million Series C for critical infrastructure AI and Eka Robotics’ $150 million raise for physical AI — in each case the money follows companies putting agents to work on operational decisions rather than chat.

Background

Pigment was founded in Paris by Eléonore Crespo, a former Google product manager and Index Ventures investor, and Romain Niccoli, a co-founder of Criteo, to build a modern alternative to spreadsheet-driven and legacy enterprise planning tools. It has grown through successive rounds into a platform used across finance, sales, supply chain and human resources planning, and its Series E continues a pattern of large European AI rounds backed by a mix of growth funds and strategic technology investors.
